*Small Edits include minor text updates, image swaps, color adjustments, and other quick changes. Larger tasks like redesigning sections or pages are considered extra work and are billed at my standard hourly rate, as are more complex or emergency fixes. Minor troubleshooting and fixes will be covered by the plan. Client approval will always be required before any chargeable work begins.
FAQ
Will I need to do anything?
Yes, there will be some things I’ll need from you! Unless you want me to use stock images (which I generally advise against, as they can feel inauthentic), I’ll need any photos or images you’d like to include on your site. If you already have any written content (text, descriptions, etc.), I can incorporate that too.
Depending on the plan you choose, there might be some additional technical work required (such as setting up Google Analytics). Don’t worry though – I’ll guide you through these steps. The level of involvement may also vary depending on how much control you want over the process. Some clients prefer to be more hands-on, while others are happy to leave it all to me.
What about registering my domain, and hosting?
It’s generally best if you register your domain yourself, as this ensures you retain full ownership.
I offer hosting with all of my plans, as many clients prefer to leave the technical aspects to me. However, if you’d like to manage your own hosting, you’re welcome to do so.
How Does Payment Work?
A 50% deposit is required upfront before work begins.
The final 50% is due upon approval of the completed website. Once paid, you fully own your website.
You can choose to keep it hosted and maintained with me for a yearly fee, or take it elsewhere – it’s entirely up to you.

How Will We Communicate?
I prefer to communicate via email, as it allows for more detailed, clear, and organized discussions. This also ensures we have a written record of all correspondence, which is helpful for project tracking and any future reference.
I do not offer video calls but will phone call if necessary at a mutually convenient time.
💡 All initial contact will be handled via email, and it remains my preferred means of communication throughout.
With the exception of peak/busy periods where I may take a little longer, I endeavour to respond to all emails within 3 working days, though typically, this will include weekends too.
What counts as a “page” in my web design package?
Great question! When I say your package includes up to 5 pages, I’m referring to fully custom-designed pages like:

About
Contact
Services
Blog (main listing page)
FAQs, Portfolio, etc.
These are the pages we plan, design, and build together from scratch.
What about other pages like 404s, search results, or category pages?
Some pages are automatically generated by your site and while they may not seem obvious, they’re still important! Here’s how I handle those:

If you need one of these pages specially designed – for example:

Why should I not just use Wix, Squarespace, or Shopify?
Website builders such as Wix and Squarespace can be a useful starting point for those on a tight budget, but they come with significant limitations.
First, they offer limited customisation. This often results in sites that look generic or even unprofessional, particularly as many users are working from the same templates. If you want your website to reflect your brand or personality in a meaningful way, these platforms can quickly become restrictive.
Second, while they may seem affordable at first, more advanced features — such as e-commerce tools, analytics, or third-party integrations — usually come at a premium. As your needs grow, so do the fees. This pricing model effectively penalises success and growth.
Third, and perhaps most importantly, you never truly own your website. Your content and site are tied to the builder’s platform. If their policies change, prices rise, or the service becomes unavailable, your site is at risk. For both commercial and ethical reasons, it is unwise to build your blog or business on a platform you do not control.
In contrast, a custom website gives you complete ownership, greater flexibility, and the freedom to scale without unnecessary constraints.
What Tools do You Use?
I work with WordPress and Elementor, and if you have a store added I’ll use WooCommerce. These are all dominant and well-established tools in the field and get regular updates, making them efficient and safe ways to build websites that last.
I sometimes use Figma for design prototyping too; if your requirements are quite complex I may design the site here for you to see before I start building, as it is easier to make edits here during the consulation process.
Do You Offer Advanced SEO?
At present, I do not offer advanced SEO services. I include basic on-page SEO with all sites — such as proper use of headings, meta tags, page titles, and image optimisation — and can assist with optimising blog content for an additional fee. Your website will be structurally prepared to support SEO, but I cannot guarantee search engine rankings. These depend on various external factors, including content quality, domain authority, backlinks, and ongoing optimisation.
I am not an SEO specialist or content strategist — my focus is on building websites that are technically sound and ready for growth. If you require more advanced SEO work, I recommend working with a dedicated SEO professional. Platforms such as Fiverr or Upwork can be good places to find one.
I may offer more comprehensive SEO services in the future, but only once I can do so to the high standard I set for all my work.
Custom request/can I pick add-ons from other plans?
Of course! I’m happy to mix and match features from different plans. For example, if you’d like a mailing list integrated into a single-page site, or a basic e-commerce setup added to a blog, that’s absolutely possible.
There will be an additional charge for add-ons, but the pricing tiers are not meant to be restrictive — they’re simply designed to reflect the most common needs of different types of clients. If your needs fall somewhere in between, I’m happy to tailor the package accordingly.
